Nancy Cooper was the first vocal coach I ever had, and, without a doubt, she is the reason I am a working professional musical theatre actor today. She laid the groundwork for my understanding of singing not as some ethereal, talent-dependent ability, but as a skill anyone can learn, using muscles anyone can train — all while keeping lessons fun and laid back. She helped me build a dynamic audition book I was confident and excited about, songs from which I still sing at cabarets and auditions today!

Studying with Nancy while in high school vocally prepared me for a career on Broadway

Working with coach extraordinaire, Nancy Cooper, was the highlight of my 60th year. She took a newbie to cabaret performance and trained me for this bucket list day. She elevated my voice and storytelling experience through song. She is a fantastic musical director and we had so much fun in the process

"As a stand-up comic I always was doing a lot of character work - which eventually led me to working on my voice with Nancy Cooper. She really helped me perfect my timing and beats through signing, that inevitably strengthened my stand-up and stage presence. She taught me breathing tricks that I would've not known otherwise, also she knows how to make you feel very comfortable no matter what level of singer you are. I highly recommend Nancy Cooper!"
